People

“If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.” Eve Arnold

This quote sums up portrait photography for me. I love to photograph people and I get the best out of them by breaking down the barriers. A lot of people can be nervous about having their photograph taken so if I can get them to relax the results show this.

I’ve tried to include as big a variety of people photographs in this portfolio. These range from headshots for business which tend to be used in websites, online profiles, tenders etc. Then there are actor headshots, portraits for press, magazine features and book jackets, profiles for high profile people to use in the press and on websites. I love photographing people and I’m happy working in a studio with a large team and multiple lights as I am out on location using just natural light.

As well as the traditional use of portraiture (think Sunday supplements) I think it’s important to show portraits on your website, it immediately makes a connection between you and the person viewing the site. The website becomes more personal, less of a faceless corporation. People are more likely to engage if they can see that they are dealing with an actual person.

I can help out if it’s one headshot you need, 200 staff members across several sites or a portrait for the jacket of your latest best seller so please get in touch.
